Hello, I’m Michael Harrar.  My artistic journey started as a ittle boy snuggled in front of my parents’ fireplace, drawing pictures of planes and tall sailing ships.  Sometimes my mother would give me small scraps of paper in church to keep me quiet.  As I drew, i would dream of all the places I could see.  Little did I know that by the time I retired, I would have lived in eight  different countries, and could  converse comfortably in three languages.

Cultures have deeply and forever changed how I view life and reflect it in my art.  I feel as much at home in a rainforest as I do in a city of towering skyscrapers.  As a gift from God, I am actually aware that my creative talent is to reflect His glory found around and within each of us.  Each work carries a story for the viewer to contemplate.  My desire is that each piece of art touches your soul, and opens your eyes in new and profound ways so that you can experience your world and the Creator who has purposefully placed you here at this time in history.

As I have walked through life, my artistic impressions have given birth through various mediums, from pencil, to pen and ink, to watercolor and acrylics, to mixed media works, incorporating fabrics from the places I have lived.  Whether through realism or expressionism to abstract--all have given voice to what I hope to convey.
